Iowa Governor Terry Branstad addresses Romney Rally in Des Moines.

The Romney Campaign held a victory event at the Iowa State Capitol Grounds on Saturday.  The event was supposed to headline Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL).  Instead the crowd of approximately 200 who patiently waited in the much-needed rain learned that his flight had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, NM and had to address the crowd gathered by phone.

Senator Rubio said the plane that landed in New Mexico was the second one today to have malfunctions, so he knew how to take a hint.  He primarily focused his message on the importance of free enterprise.  He promised to return to Iowa.  You can listen to his remarks here or in the player above.  So the event was a “wash” in that the keynote speaker couldn’t make it, and we all got pretty wet.

Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, however, was on hand shortly after returning from a trip to Chile to give some brief remarks.  You can watch the video of his speech below.
