Black Friday Lives Up to Its Name

| November 23, 2012

I am not a fan of Black Friday.  I am a fan of deals and capitalism, but not human greed and covetousness.  It seems as though Thanksgiving has become nothing more than Black Friday eve, and we always seem to get a clinic in basic human depravity.  Drudge Report had some Black Friday coverage linked at their website, and it isn’t pretty.  Black Friday seems to bring out the worst in people.

We first have a video of rampage taking place at a Walmart in Georgia.

Then someone actually physically assaulted people to get ahead in line and had a gun pulled on him.  Shots fired outside a Walmart in Tallahassee, FL.   Shoppers couldn’t wait for Urban Outfitters to open so they smashed the door open.  A woman was arrested for trying to jump lines and she claimed that she was trying to find her sister.  A Victoria’s Secret in Overland Park, KS was rushed as well.  A shoplifter tries to mace security guards.  Then you have your fights over cell phones.

All of that is minor compared to the most disgusting thing I’ve seen in the news today. A Planned Parenthood clinic in Southern Florida is offered a Black Friday discount of $10.  Really a discount on murder?

Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast offered the special, saying, “Visit our West Palm Beach or Kendall Health Center for special after Thanksgiving savings on Friday, November 23rd.”

Here’s a picture of the ad:

Jill Stanek first noticed this and said “Planned Parenthood brings new meaning to the term, ‘Black Friday,’ don’t they?”  Yes they do.
