Stop Common Core, American Principles Project and the Concerned Women of America in Georgia made the following video series on the Common Core State Standards possible.  Jane Robbins of American Principles Project gives a broad explanation of the problems of the Common Core.   So if you are not sure why the Common Core State Standards are a bad thing, here’s a good place to learn why I and so many others are dead set against their implementation.

    If a religious right wing group like American Principles Project is again Common Core State Standard then something tells me its actually good the American school children. Because we all know who anti-science these kind of groups are and that’s not good for any schoolchild. We need to teach and broaden our math and science skills as a nation and this is a good start.

      You need to do some research. You are woefully ignorant on this subject. Opposition to the Common Core is actually pretty bipartisan. Also there are a number of states who jettisoned their superior standards to go after Race to the Top money. Also support for the Common Core includes a number of Republicans.

      So do your homework and then tell me how great the Common Core is. Your comment just makes you look like a partisan hack, and an ignorant one at that.

      You are spot on. You can find the Core online. Like Shane says, read it so that you can be best informed. The “race to the top” is a problem. However, ensuring a rigorous commitment to education by making sure that districts aren’t lazy IS a part of the solution. The Core is a start. It is not the only solution.
