Biden: Obama Considering Executive Order for Gun Control

As a former Obama staffer and now Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel once said, “never let a serious crisis go to waste.”  Gun control advocates seem to be taking that to heart in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Newtown, CT.  On that note Vice President Joe Biden today gave away President Barack Obama’s next target for his adventures in executive overreach – gun control.

“The president is going to act.  There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”

 

Well that’s just dandy.  If President Obama can’t get it done through Congress he’ll just do it himself.

Everybody seems to be coming to the gun control party….

So we have Senator Diane Feinstein’s bill to deal with, Iowa State Representative Dan Muhlbauer (D-Manilla) has gone ballistic (pun intended) over this issue.  New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is promising sweeping gun control measures in order to enact the “toughest assault weapon ban in the nation, period!”  Former President Bill Clinton’s is calling out for gun control during a speech that had nothing to do with it.  A genius of a Connecticut lawmaker calls for background checks… for buying AMMO.

At least people in Georgia seem to have the right idea.

Stop the madness!

Let’s use our heads folks and address the root cause of violence.  Violating the Constitution won’t stop it.

    That cartoon is stupid. Bats have more than one purpose than to kill. Wire has more than one purpose than to kill. Knives have more than one purpose that to kill.
    Guns however don’t. Their job is to kill. To kill animals, to kill humans. A gun’s purpose is only one thing.

    The whole “guns don’t kill people, people kill people” is a ridiculous argument as well. I can just as well say in rebuttal, “guns don’t defend people, people defend people.” It’s not more guns we need, it’s less. You cannot kill so easily and callously with a knife or a baseball bat. School killings happen with guns, not knives or bats. That’s why they have to go. To kill with a knife, you have to get up close an personal. With a gun, it’s different. You can kill from distance, from range. That way, a killer doesn’t have to deal with the victim on a personal level like with a knife. That’s the main difference. This is what the loony Conservatives fail to realize.
    That while Fox News blows up the minority’s opinion on this, to make it seem like the US is divided on this issue, the reality is that there is just a small minority that want more gun; the nutty, crazy minority. Then the World watches with laughter at the ridiculousness of it all, when conspiracy nuts like Alex Jones advocate guns and blow up on TV. Unstable people like Alex Jones do not deserve a gun in their hand.

    You might say “well that’s what makes America so great”, but the truth of the matter is that nonsensical responses to a tragedy like this is what separates you more from the world. America’s conservatives response to a tragedy with “we need more guns” makes America look like the crazy guy no-one wants to sit next to on the bus. The World watches in wonder and bemusement at a people who make irrational and nonsensical decisions in response to this. The World sees things like Americans rejecting free healthcare, more guns, the raising of taxes on the wealthy as really odd decisions. I mean, I can get into the latter and the former but that’s deviating from the point. The statistics back up what I say too, but then the Conservatives invent statistics or only show statistics which back up their agenda rather than looking at the full statistics to gain an unbiased view.
    When you walk into a debate with an agenda predetermined you will inevitably only make statements to back up that agenda, irrespective of whether they are correct or not. Then instead of being open minded, you just defend your agenda because to back down from it would appear as if it were to be defeated. That is when you make the stupid decisions like I previously mentioned. The World knows this, and watches this is in astonishment. It’s time for this nonsense to stop, and the new age of Enlightenment to begin. And I think we should get on with it.

      Guns didn’t kill the kids at Sandy Hook; foolish voters whose elected representatives created gun-free zones are responsible. Terrorists, tyrants, and nutjobs like easy kills. Nothing easier than a school with no protection. You’re a fool, Mark.
