Des Moines, IA – The Planned Parenthood clinics that offered webcam abortions located in Red Oak and Creston, IA have dropped their hours to zero.  This was confirmed by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland clinic.  This follows 10 Planned Parenthood clinics being closed in Iowa in the past year-and-a-half.

The photo taken by Rod Goodemote below shows that Planned Parenthood is encouraging clients to go to their clinic in Council Bluffs for services.

Jenifer Bowen, executive director for Iowa Right to Life told Caffeinated Thoughts that Planned Parenthood is far from where they planned to be when webcam abortions were approved.  “We broke the news back in 2008 that they were in the final stages of a scheme to provide no appointment, walk-in abortions without a physician on site.  They planned simply to offer these dangerous RU-486 chemical abortions at all of their locations, with a Des Moines-based abortionist consulting only by webcam. Internally they dubbed this program ‘First in the Nation.’  Now, with Red Oak and Creston dropping down to no hours, it’s important to realize that this is a very long way from where they wanted to be—Planned Parenthoods in as many communities as possible throughout Iowa,” Bowen said.

“While these clinics are not yet officially closed, we are so pleased that these webcam abortion locations are no longer open for business on a regular basis.  Make no mistake, we will chase them out of every nook and cranny in our state and beyond until the moment we see the sanctity of life restored for all, born and unborn,” Bowen added.

Bowen told Caffeinated Thoughts that Iowa Right to Life planned to hold a prayer gathering at the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Ankeny (704 North Ankeny Boulevard, Ankeny, IA) which recently closed tonight.  The closing service will start at 5:30p and run until 6:00p.  Those who attend are invited back to North Pointe Church (2302 SW 3rd St., Ankeny, IA) for hot drinks and light refreshments at 6:15p.
