Sam-Clovis-Polk-County-GOP

(Sioux City, IA) In response to the Democrat Party’s attack on Sam Clovis’s strong stand for religious freedom, Sam issues the following statement:  “Being a U.S. Senator means that my positions will always uphold the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution,” claimed Sam Clovis, candidate for the U.S Senate.  “The Democrats don’t like it when I speak up because it forces them to make tough choices.  I will make those tough choices and I will stand up and speak loudly for Iowa.”

Clovis continued to say that it is important for elected officials to take a stand on the campaign trail because it sets the stage for when they have to make the tough decisions when elected to office.  “Even before taking that Oath, voters need to see that I will take a stand on the tough decisions that will be placed before me in the U.S. Senate.  I will stand up for their religious freedoms as guaranteed to us in the Constitution, and I will fight for them and their paychecks because I know that Iowans are smart business leaders and they will reinvest in this state given the opportunity.”  Clovis has been traveling eastern Iowa and is meeting with voters and listening to their concerns before the June 3rd primary.

Sam Clovis is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Tom Harkin.  Sen. Harkin announced that he will retire at the end of this Congressional session.

Clovis holds a Masters in Business Administration in Management and a Doctorate in Public Administration.  He is currently a tenured full professor at a private liberal arts college in northwest Iowa.  He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and still provides leadership to defense and homeland security institutions.  He lives in Hinton, IA with his wife Charlotte and stepson Khan.  More information on the candidate and his campaign may be obtained at www.samclovis.com.
