(Cedar Rapids, IA) Rod Blum, candidate for U.S. Congress in Iowa’s First District, announced today that renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson will headline a breakfast fundraiser for his campaign in Cedar Rapids on Monday, August 25.

The breakfast will take place from 8:00 – 9:30 AM at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel in Cedar Rapids. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and may be reserved by calling (563) 581-9677 or by visiting www.rodblum.com/bencarson.

“Rod Blum is the clear choice in this race,” said Carson. “Rod is an authentic, common sense leader — not a career politician — with the real world experience that we need in Congress. Rod and I both believe that America can do better across many fronts, including implementing health care reforms that empower patients, increase transparency, and reduce costs for all Americans. I am proud to do everything I can to support Rod’s campaign.”

“I am humbled to have Dr. Carson’s help in this race,” added Blum. “He shares my passion to secure America’s future by returning to common sense principles like personal responsibility, upward mobility, and individual choice; and I look forward to welcoming him to Eastern Iowa.”

Rod Blum is the Republican nominee for United States Congress in Iowa’s 1st District. A member of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program, Rod graduated with a finance degree from Loras College and received his MBA from the University of Dubuque. A lifelong resident of Dubuque and current owner of Digital Canal Corporation, Rod is married to Karen Blum with five children. For more information please visit: www.RodBlum.com.
