The “Freedom of Choice Act” would overturn all pro-life laws nationwide.

It’s hard when you teach politics at a college not to talk about current events, so this semester, I embraced my fate, organizing several of my courses so that moments in the campaign could also be teachable moments in the classroom.
I don’t know about my students, but, thus far, early in the semester, I’ve learned a thing or two. I knew, of course, that young people had fallen for Obama, but only now, in the heat of the campaign, have I seen how hard many of them have fallen. A good number of them — especially those who are most vocal — can’t imagine voting for John McCain. When, in order to stimulate discussion, I ask them why, the conversation inevitably returns to his age. John McCain is old; Barack Obama is young. For many of them, that seems to be enough.

@Nephos #14 it is sooooo translatable. My wife and I sense that even more since we home educate.
I had two seperate Obama signs ripped apart in my front yard. The lasted only a day. I have also been verbally attacked when discussing issues with Conservatives. There are fools on both sides.
I’m not sure when we started to hate each other for having different views. I consider myself to be Democrate, but not Liberal. Our government is bigger than ever before and our deficite is astronomical. What about that is conservative? Neither are true of this President and he had 6 years of no oversight and all the votes he needs to pass anything.

You are right there are fools on both sides – example of conservative foolishness is the “Obama is a Muslim” e-mail that was being circulated around.
Another example – Michael Savage – don’t listen to him. I may agree with some of his positions, but I certainly don’t agree with his methods.
Sorry that you have had Obama signs ripped down. That is immature unruly behavior that should have no place in any election cycle regarding who is running.
I also recognize that there are moderates and even conservatives in the Democratic party. Just like there are moderates and liberals in the Republican party. Just wish those in the Democratic party had more influence.
Regarding the size of government – one of my criticisms of President Bush would be just that. He hasn’t governed as a fiscal conservative.
