I don’t know why this hymn was brought to mind this morning, but may this classic hymn by Issac Watts encourage you today!

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.

Like flowery fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
Lie withering ere ‘tis night.

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

Not only is He our help for ages past, He is our help for today as well!

    And the future, without end! I love it when praise songs get stuck in my head.

    As Hitler said, if you control the youth, you command the future. There are just far too many parallels between Obama and Hitler to be ignored. Any conservative at one time or another ahs been called a ‘Nazi’ or a ‘fascist’ by a left winf\g loon, I know I have, and you just have to marvel at the stupidity of people who are so drunk on the ideaology that they don’t realize that they are the ones behaving like that which they decry. Truly, truly sad. I have said befoe, and will say now, an Obama presidency could well lead to armed insurrection when he begins to attempt to dismantle the constitution. At that point he is no longer the CIC and the military and populous will be bound by oath to overthrow him.

    I hope to God this does not come to pass, but the possibility is very, very real.
