In the video below you see a stark contrast between former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.  To be fair the context of the visits were different.  President Bush was visiting the Marines somewhere in the Anbar Province in Iraq.  President Obama visited Marines at Camp Lejeune where he announced the deadline for combat troops being pulled out of Iraq.

The CNN anchor’s remark calling the Marine’s response to President Obama – “tepid” was pretty kind, it was embarrassing.  Most soldiers, sailors, and Marines I know respect the office of the President of the United States since POTUS is the Commander in Chief.  The troops loved President George W. Bush, however, and he respected them.  President Obama has some work to do to win them over, and hasn’t gotten off on the right foot.
