Carrie Prejean’s pastor, Miles McPherson, pastor of The Rock Church in San Diego was on the O’Reilly Factor last night discussing Carrie Prejean’s answer to Perez Hilton and gay marriage.

Talking about the gay marriage position being compared to the civil rights struggle.  Money quote: “I find it very offensive that somebody would equate their behavior with my ethnicity.  I know a lot of people who used to be gay, I don’t know anybody who used to be black.”

You are right, it is the money quote. Thanks for putting this up.

I think this pastor was one of the California pastors that spearheaded the Prop 8 initiative. Kudos to this pastor!! I hope the next(election) time around that all of God's people in Califonia in thier various races, can have the money quote “I don't know anyone who used to be just a mass of tissue.”

  3. I didn't know about his involvement.

I think that is brilliant. I hesitate to say this, but I “used to be” gay. I was in a relationship with a woman for almost 10 years. It is very much a choice, just like choosing someone to marry. It never felt right to me, but once you are there, you get this false sense of belonging and persecution from the outside which is a powerful staying factor. I finally woke up or grew up, what ever you want to call it. I am now happily married to my high school sweet heart and we have two beautiful children. It is not all wine and roses every day, but it feels more right than my previous relationship. Sorry for spilling my heart all over the board, but I had to share. thanks for listening.

  5. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Kansas Bob says:

I liked what she said when confronted about her nude pictures..

“I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive.”

..too bad news clips don't include the whole quote.

  7. Yeah, I hadn't seen the whole quote, just the first sentence – I thought, that's kind of inconsistent.

    Nice to have the context.

  8. I know somebody that used to be black….I think his name is Michael Jackson?

  9. I thought it, but decided not to go there, LOL!

  10. David in CT says:

There are a lot more people who used to be christian than who used to be gay. You Can change! There Is hope for you.

  11. Let me revise your statement – there are a lot more people who used to attend a Christian church than used to be gay. Let's not confuse church attendance with having a relationship with Christ.

Anyway, thanks for your snarky comment.
