image I saw this video (also below) linked at DrudgeCongressman Bob Etheridge (D-NC) was approached by two college student and asked if he supported all of the Obama agenda.

Congressman Etheridge proceeded to ask the students their name and proceeded to grab one of the students.  Mike Flynn at Big Government provided some context for this incident.

Last week, Democrat Congressman Bob Etheridge (D-NC2) attended a fundraiser headlined by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He was asked by some students on the street whether he supported the ā€œObama Agenda.ā€ He didnā€™t take it well.

No he didnā€™t.  While I donā€™t think it would have hurt for the students to give the Congressman their names, do you think this is appropriate conduct for a sitting Congressman (or anyone for that matter)?  See for yourself and decideā€¦

Flynn also predicts that weā€™ll be seeing more of this:

Expect more of this. The hard, progressive left captured the Democrat majority in Congress and forced them to enact a fantasy grab-bag of legislation that is increasingly unpopular with the American public. Weā€™re on the cusp of a deeper recession, millions of unemployed Americans have no prospect for work, taxes are about to spike higher and weā€™ve maxed out the national credit card. The Democrats were given a chance to run government and theyā€™ve only succeeded in running it into the ground.

So, yeah, Democrats who are up for reelection this November are a bit testy.

My advice is for the Congressman to switch to decaf (which pains me to tell anybody) and to do what those of us who are parents tell our children all of the time – ā€œkeep your hands to yourself.ā€

Update 6/15/10: The good Congressman apologizes.

I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction an I apologize to all involved," Rep. Bob Etheridge said in a statement. "No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response.

The truth is I had a long day, I’ve had bad days many times. It’s not a good crutch to lean on and I won’t use that.

Didnā€™t he just use the crutch by mentioning it?
