Some miscellany for the weekend: Chuck Offenburger: Branstad’s Entry Bad for Iowa GOP (HT: Iowa Independent) Attended an event, the Iowa Tea Party Statewide Convention, this afternoon at HyVee Hall that had a few hundred people. Not as many as I’m sure the organizers had hoped, but you are competing with 70 degree weather, and Iowa and Iowa State played. I guess we have a bipartisan consensus that organizations that coach clients on how to evade taxes and set up a child brothel shouldn’t receive taxpayer money. So I guess the third time is a charm. Ed Morrissey was on top of this [...] Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa 5th District) spoke with Megyn Kelly and is demanding an investigation of ACORN: I also find it interesting that the ACORN headquarters had an Obama poster (anybody have a link with a picture. The non-profit organization I work for would not dream of having a political [...] I haven’t endorsed anybody… on the GOP side for the 2010 Iowa Gubernatorial race. Now in the general election I would vote for Gumby over Debt Culver, but for now I don’t have a pony in this race. I’ve gotten numerous Facebook page requests/group requests. I haven’t accepted any of them yet, but [...] This is getting interesting. Who will be running to be the GOP nominee in the Iowa Gubernatorial Race. Some are already confirmed: Bob Vander Plaats Names being bandied about: State Representative Christopher Rants (R-Sioux City) who said is considering it after the Iowa Supreme Court’s gay marriage decision.
