I blogged on this earlier, but Randy Alcorn put it so much better than me.   He also shared an article written by John Piper on single issue politics.

Pretty interesting.  I’d love to hear your thoughts.

  1. Very impressive look here. Great job. And the topic of your post does concern me as well. I missed meeting Huckabee last week in NH. I almost skipped out of the conference we were in to see him ,but I had to speak that night.

  4. Though not mentioned in this post, I’m concerned about the National Right to Life Committee endorsement of Fred Thompson. He is second only to Rudy Guiliani of GOP candidates least deserving of the endorsement.

His last year in the Senate he only got a 33% rating out of NRLC, and his opposition to a Right to Life Amendment has me scratching my head at their endorsement. Why?

  8. If I was American I’d vote democratic personally – maybe not for Hillary – but I do like Barack Obama.

  12. Barack Obama does have a great personality, and is generally likeable. I disagree with him on a number of issues with him, like abortion for starters.

For me this issue transcends politics.

  16. Like Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily, I have always thought of Pat as a nut, albeit a nut with good intentions. Now I’m not so sure about the good intentions. He must be a Republican first and a pro-lifer second. Why else would he endorse a pro-choice candidate during the primaries? I’d understand if he was so horrified of Hillary that he endorsed Rudy in the general election, but why not support a pro-life candidate in the primaries so that we don’t get stuck with Rudy in the first place? It’s mind-boggling.

  20. It is mind boggling. I’m tired of endorsements based on pragmatism rather than principles. You are right that a pro-life candidate should have received the endorsement.

Sad. The National Right to Life Endorsement of Thompson I feel is troubling as well since he only had a rating of 33 from them his last year in the Senate, and doesn’t support the Right to Life Amendment. Only Guiliani is least deserving of that endorsement. Crazy.

  24. Thompson is solidly pro-life. He got bad marks from them for his support of the McCain-Feingold amendment which he later admitted was a mistake. I’m confident Thompson would make a great president (I’ll admit I’m biased, being from Tennessee). I would like to see a Thompson-Huckabee ticket. That would really be great. Hopefully Thompson’s fiscal policies could rub off on Huckabee, and Huckabee’s moral clarity could rub off on Thompson.
