I normally don’t blog about sports, but I had to opine about my beloved Iowa Hawkeyes.
Iowa dropped its last regular season game of the year to Western Michigan, 28-19. The Hawkeyes are now 6-6. They really needed to be 7-5 to have a decent shot at a bowl game.
The Hawkeyes find themselves where they were at last year, 6-6. They made it to a bowl game last year, and lost to Texas and ended the season 6-7. The way the season has gone I guess I should be happy with a 6-6 regular season, at times earlier on it certainly seemed like it was going to worse. I don’t think it is likely that they will go to a bowl game, nor am I sure they deserve to. Let them take their lumps and learn for next year. The one positive is that they are a young team and most of the starters will be returning.
I’m looking forward to next season.
