Just saw on Fox News that Mike Huckabee now leads the National Rasmussen Poll – going ahead of Rudy Giuliani by three points 20% to 17%.  I haven’t found a link to that, but I will provide when I get it.  This is breaking news as it isn’t even up on Mike Huckabee’s website.

Also, Mike Huckabee received some pretty significant endorsements which I actually got to witness at his headquarters (if there is ever any video put up on this look behind him on his right and I’ll be in the background).  Tim and Beverly LaHaye endorsed Huckabee.  Tim LaHaye is a nationally known pastor and author, most recently known for co-authoring the Left Behind Series with Jerry Jenkins (who also endorsed Huckabee).  Beverly LaHaye is the founder of Concerned Women for America.  So a pretty big endorsement.

On the state level here in Iowa he also got a big endorsement by Chuck Hurley, who is the executive director of the Iowa Family Policy Center.  Hurley is very influential among evangelicals in Iowa.  He previously backed Senator Sam Brownback (who was a college classmate of his).

Also, there is a lot of misinformation floating around about the Wayne Dumont story.  You can go to the Huckabee blog for a detailed explanation.

Update – Here is the link to the Rasmussen Poll.  I also added a photo – I’m right behind Governor Huckabee.

  1. The Christian right (and other fed up conservatives) are supporting Mike Huckabee, but the right’s pundits are not flocking to support him, and many of them are actually trying to derail him. Case in point:

Rush’s Hit-Piece on Huckabee (stick with it, audio of Rush)

Something is very very very very wrong with this picture. Bottom line: The best candidate for the Republican nomination is Huckabee.
