1. The prosperity gospel makes false promises that result in nothing but disappointment and, in many cases, a loss of faith. It brings to mind Matthew 18:6-7: ““Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!”

5. Olsteen chooses his words carefully, but at 1:47 on part one, he slips up and calls it “my message”.

   That's the problem with olsteen. It's not “his” message and it's not the complete message given to us. It belongs to God!

   A well placed lie is always embedded in the truth. If olsteen's teaching only part of the truth, then logically there is a lie. A lie of omission.

   Olsteen needs to tell the whole truth. Not just part of it.

7. Oh my !!! Rev. Michael Horton… is he GAY?!!! and he is criticizing Joel Osteen???? Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!

8. No he is not Gay. He is married with four children. Horton has one of the best minds in regards to modern Evangelicalism.

9. It's so very similar to Rev. Schuller/Crystal Cathedral. And you nailed it with stating it's “a lie of omission.” Both are similar in “preaching” good feelings & fluff. But, there is little to no talk of the ramifications of sin; no, that would be too uncomfortable and would keep people from tuning in and donating money. Horton is right on.

10. Yes could have easily done the previous post on Schuller, but fortunately he's almost irrelevant outside of his own church now.

    Osteen is another matter.

There's 'more' to life, via the Word of God, then “wanting to make people feel good about themselves”, mainly because the Bible talks more about 'what God and Jesus did for ALL mankind than anything else'. Not one mention of What Christ did by His life, death, and resurrection, or the sins that will lead us to hell 'without' Christ (ever notice how most of the 'speeches', I don't consider them sermons, focus on 'incidents that happened in his life or someone he knows'? “People have said to me, Joel I thank God for what 'you're' doing” and so on, so why not give the Glory to God because 'you've' done NOTHING except what 'He's' enabled you to do? Watch the shows and notice how many times the 'I' comes into play.). 'Assuming' that all who attend your 'building' (sorry I just don't see this as a church) are saved is a dangerous error in judgment, because the unsaved can 'slip in as well'. If people are 'constantly told to 'be happy, do good, God wants good for you', what about the 'sins' that we ALL need to go to Jesus for, and to repent of in order for us to get right with God? Everytime this is mentioned I see and hear the 'don't judge lest ye be judged' but is this really the 'judgment' God is talking about??? As is the case with Carlton Pearson, I earnestly pray to God that some day soon, something will happen (even if it means the Lord has to use 'their' children to do it) to open these men (and women's) minds and hearts to knowing the “real Christ of the Bible”, and not the ones of their own making.
