You know people have got to quit hiding stuff from Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Now she is saying that the CIA lied to me! CIA Director (Obama Appointee) Leon Panetta says, not so! She said in a prepared statement yesterday:
"The CIA briefed me only once on enhanced interrogation techniques in September 2002 in my capacity as ranking member of the Intelligence Committee. I was informed then that the Department of Justice opinions had concluded that the use of enhanced interrogation techniques were legal. The only mention of waterboarding at that briefing was that it was not being employed.â
You know things are getting rough when you are getting beat up by a CNN reporter.
Iâm sure she wishes she could take that press conference back. Sheâs is contradicting herself. Rory Cooper at The Foundry wrote:
While trying to jump out of the way of a moving freight train, she tried to drag the men and women of the Central Intelligence Agency onto the tracks. Luckily, America knows whom to believe in this integrity contest. Speaker Pelosi also tried to criminalize policy differences with the Bush administration (despite actually having no policy differences by the way). And what is her answer to everything? A Truth Commission. Something straight out of an Orwellian novel. That would be ideal for the Speaker, so long as it doesnât focus on her.
Charles Krauthammer said that Pelosi âis now at war with the CIA, and it has the means by leaking selectively of destroying her and I suspect theyâll do that.â It isnât a good thing to pick a fight with the agency that holds the nationsâ secrets⊠especially when you are the one who is lying and thus now considered an âenemy of national security.â
Lisa Wellman at Smart Girl Politics asks if we had toddlers for congress, would we notice a difference?
