I’m going on blogging hiatus until Wednesday so with the exception of one or two scheduled posts I won’t be posting or responding to comments.  Eric Goranson, one of our regular contributors, will be posting and moderating comments.  Some of the other contributors may post as well.  Even though I’ll be gone this blog will not be inactive.  I’ve got some guest contributors lined up that I’m incredibly excited about.

Melody Pernell

melodyandgovpalin Melody lives near Fairbanks, AK, and has lived in Alaska for 20 years (which she calls the greatest state, but we can agree to disagree).  She’s a “a professional ski instructor, counselor, educator, nurse, food-prep specialist, financial advisor, purchaser, dog-walker, house-cleaner, coach, dishwasher, repair lady, seamstress, landlord, book keeper, and Day-care worker.”  Usually they call her mom 😉

She’s been married for six years to John who is a police and fire officer, they have three children and will start homeschooling with their oldest this Fall.  She has been a Christ follower since the age of 13 and grew up in a Christian home.  She is actively involved in ministry to soldiers based at Ft. Wainright and is a member of a local independent Baptist church.  Melody also blogs (when she gets a chance) at Life in Alaska.

Kim Lehman

kimlehman Kim spends her time “preparing for the day she’ll face the Lord.”  When the Iowa General Assembly is in session you can also find Kim advocating on behalf of the unborn.  Kim is the President of Iowa Right to Life and serves as Iowa’s National Committeewoman on the Republican National Committee.  She is a wife, mother, grandmother, and a follower of Christ.  You can also follow her on Twitter.

Representative Chris Hagenow

Representative Chris Hagenow (R-Windsor Heights) represents Windsor Heights, Urbandale, and West Des Moines in the Iowa House of Representatives.  He was elected in November of 2008, and is serving his first term.

Chris is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council, and serves on the Telecommunications and Information Technology Task Force. Chris serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa Right to Life Committee and the Iowa Prayer Breakfast Committee. He is also a member of the Windsor Heights Lions’ Club.  Chris and his family attend Westkirk Presbyterian Church in Urbandale.

Chris received his BA from the University of Northern Iowa, Magna Cum Laude, in 1994. He earned his JD from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1997 and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.

Amy Hall

AmySTRCrop Amy Hall spent the first ten years of her time in Los Angeles working in the film industry and getting an M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Biola University on the side. She has lectured on various apologetics topics in Southern California and taught classes on evangelism, apologetics, and the basics of Christianity at Sonrise Westside Community Church in Venice, CA. She began blogging in 2005 when she was drafted into The A-Team Blog, where she has been blogging on culture, philosophy, and religion ever since. Amy left "The Industry" in 2007 and now works full time (and blogs!) for Stand to Reason, an apologetics organization dedicated to training Christians to clearly understand and defend the truths of the Christian faith.
