I wanted to encourage you to vote for a couple of candidates in other statewide races in Iowa in the Republican primary this Tuesday.  These races down the ballot are just as important as the Governor’s race.

image For State Treasurer, please cast your vote for Dave Jamison who is currently the Story County Treasurer (serving since 1995).  He has excellent experience, and will work to make government accountable, transparent and efficient.  He is also a strong fiscal conservative who will bring those policies to the State Treasurer’s office.

image For Secretary of State, I urge you to vote for Matt Schultz.  He will be a pro-jobs Secretary of State.  He will also work to ensure fair elections by implementing a system that will “make it easy to vote, and nearly impossible to cheat” starting off with requiring photo identification, then reforming our same-day voter registration process, and creating a hotline to report voter fraud.  I also think that Schultz represents the future of the Republican Party, and we need to cultivate leadership for races further into the future.

image Though Brenna Findley does not have a Republican primary opponent in the Attorney General race that I’m aware of; I encourage you to support her campaign against incumbent Attorney General Tom Miller.  Our next Governor needs an Attorney General who although being independent will work with him, not against him.  She will represent Iowa’s interests, stand for the U.S and Iowa Constitutions, and stand against the federal takeover of healthcare.

Also a reminder to vote for Rod Roberts for Governor.  He is the unity candidate in this race.  He is both a solid fiscal and social conservative.  If you do not like a choice between Governor Terry Branstad or Bob Vander Plaats, you do have a third choice.  Vote principles, vote Roberts.
