The Golden Gate Minutemen produced a video showing a woman questioning Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA) during a town hall meeting on 7/24/10 in Hayward, CA.  In a nutshell she asks how is the health care reform is constitutional, and if so what limits does the federal government have to involve itself in citizens private lives?  His answer is disturbing, but predictable.

It is pretty obvious that Congressman Stark knows nothing about the Constitution, but the woman confronting him was incredibly articulate and knowledgeable about the limits placed upon the Federal government by our Constitution.   Anonymous woman 1, Congressman Stark 0.

  1. We ask ourselves, why has the Federal government become the tangled monster that it is? People
like Pete Stark are the main reason. They have no understanding of American History or the
US Constitution. If it were another century, he would be tarred and feathered. Perhaps the electorate that continues to send him to Washington should carry half the blame if not the majority
    of the responsibility.

It’s a slippery slope. If we don’t curtail the growth of the Federal government and it’s reach in out lives. We will live in a dictatorship within 100 years. It can happen and will happen if things don’t change. The frog, ur…citizenry is being boiled very slowly.

Thank you for allowing me to rant.

  2. What Stark is thinking is no matter what he says, the dimwits in California will vote for him because he is a Democrat. They keep electing Boxer and Pelosi, so I rest my case

The survival of our republic is at risk unless we vote all these morons out of office. This attitude of Pete Stark is not new. This man thinks he is a world class intellectual but he is a moron.

  3. It seems before anyone assumes federal office, it needs to be required (by law) that a two or three day course on the US Constitution and the limits of power be administered by a constitutional scholar. And they need to pass it! Obviously half of the people in Congress have no clue. How can they swear to uphold it when they have no idea, as is obvious here, what it is they are upholding?

” They have no understanding ”
    “he is a moron”

Why do we all assume it is ignorance? Stark has been in office many years. He knows the limits of the constitution, but willfully chooses to ignore those limits. It is not a knowledge issue, but a moral one.
