An article entitled: Did the Tea Party Cost Republicans the Senate, and Should It Matter? stated

It’s impossible to know exactly how things would have played out had the Tea Party movement not existed. But it certainly appears that the nomination of both O’Donnell and Angle cost the Republican Party. Had those two seats gone to the GOP, Republicans might now be in a position to celebrate a takeover of both houses of Congress — instead of just one.

My response to the above statement is ABSOLUTELY NOT. The Tea Party caused an uprising in this nation that is greatly needed and  has only just begun. This was a small battle and the war for our Country is far from over. Angle and O’Donnell are war heroes and not casualties. This may be a time to retreat and retrench, but this fight for morality and conservationism is far from over. Victory was achieved for the right last night in many places and we can not overlook those victories!

But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing.  It behooves you, therefore, to be watchful in your States as well as in the Federal Government.” — Andrew Jackson, Farewell Address, March 4, 1837

If we are to see the efforts of the past two years fade away in one election night, then we do nothing; but if we desire to free our children and grandchildren from the shackles that the State and Federal Government has placed upon us and them, then we battle to win the war, not giving up when a skirmish is lost.  Be eternally vigilant!

  1. Mary is right. This was the first battle in a long war. A war to keep our country, to save it for our children and grand children. To stop this government from turning this nation into a European style socialistic nation!!

  2. Naturally, the MSM and the inside the beltway types are trying to spin the Angle and O’Donnell defeats as being the fault of both the TEA Partyand Palin. The fact is, until just a few weeks ago, no one thought that the gop could retake the senate. A senate Majority Leader has never been defeated in the history of the US Senate, so Angle had a tough row to hoe, particularly against the entrenched Reid machine, I give her a lot of credit for trying. O’Donnell was a tough campaigner in a very democrat friendly state, plus she didn’t get the support she should have gotten from the RNC. A case could be made that O’Donnell would have done better if it wasn’t for the non-stop bashing she received from Karl Rove and some others who were bitter over her defeat of Castle. Polls showed that she did very well among independent voters, it was the gop voters that didn’t get behind her. I give her a lot of credit for trying. Even the exit polls found that Castle would have been defeated as well, but by a smaller margin, but a defeat is a defeat no matter the margin.

In the case of Palin, it should be remembered that Palin stayed out of the NV primary altogether, and only endorsed Angle after she won the primary. Both Palin and the TEA Party energized the gop base, and helped turn out the vote in many, many races across the country. Without them, it is unlikely the gop margin of victory in the house, and state races would probably be much smaller.

  3. You know after re-reading this article and reading other blogs throughout the day, I’m beginning to believe that the liberal/rino republicans hate the TEA party movement more than the democrats. So listen up rino’s we don’t like you much either. Change your tune or your names are going to the top of the “you’re fired” list.
