Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal in an interview with Human Events about his book, Leadership and Crisis, expounding on an idea from that book said that members of Congress should be part-time.

We used to pay farmers not to grow crops, let’s make congressman stay out of Washington, D.C…. Our liberty, our wallets are safest when the legislature’s not in session.  Make them part-time. Give them term limits. Don’t let them become lobbyists.
