Elizabeth Edwards, estranged wife of former presidential candidate and U.S. Senator John Edwards (D-NC), died this morning ending her struggle with cancer.  She was 61.  This came shortly after the family announced yesterday that doctors had told her that further treatment would be unproductive.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.  I admired her courage and the grace that she demonstrated throughout her battle with cancer, especially in midst of her struggle at home.
