FRC Action Webcast 12/2/10

Family Research Council Action hosted a webcast today with a panel of military leaders, a U.S. Senator, and policy experts entitled “Mission Compromised: How the Military is Being Used to Advance a Radical Agenda.”

Summary of the event:

Veteran military commanders, Members of Congress, and policy experts will assess the Pentagon’s study on the impact of homosexuality on combat effectiveness and readiness.  The experts will discuss the report’s shortcomings and plans by Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to rush a vote during the lame-duck session without thorough hearings and testimony by battlefield commanders.  Viewers will also learn what action steps they can take to stop this last ditch attempt by outgoing liberal senators to force a liberal social agenda onto the military.    The Webcast will also discuss a measure within the Defense Authorization Act that would turn military medical facilities into abortion clinics.

The guests included:

  • Host: Tony Perkins, Marine Corps veteran and President, FRC Action
  • Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Member, Senate Armed Services Committee
  • Gen. Carl Mundy, former Commandant of the Marine Corps
  • Brig. Gen. Douglas Lee, Chaplain (U.S. Army, Ret.)
