Democrats in the state House today requested a public hearing on the omnibus budget bill that is an attempt by House Republicans to break the Michael Gronstal led deadlock on the state budget.

It should be noted that this is a relatively unprecedented public hearing request in that it was originally called for 8:00 am tomorrow when most public hearings have several days advance notice.

After Republican protests regarding the hasty nature that it was scheduled, the hearing has been moved to 4:00 pm in the House chambers at the Capitol.

As public speakers are invited, we encourage Polk County Republicans to show up and speak to show their support for the omnibus bill.
