I had somebody email the invitation below to me last night:

patgrassley

The person wrote, “I guess the Republican Party of Iowa will not stay neutral in the Pat Grassley Annette Sweeney race.  I am just a regular guy and tried calling the party office and they did not return my call and would not answer why they are in the middle of this primary.  I’m tired of political families running this state and country and trying to hand down their power.”

John Deeth noted this morning quoting Civic Skinny that this is the first time that Senator Chuck Grassley has done anything noteworthy for his grandson’s political ambitions.  It would seem that Senator Grassley can see his grandson having difficulty in the primary race with Annette Sweeney.

The question is why have this at the RPI HQ?  In defense of RPI Chair Matt Strawn, I believe has been above board on primary races and has kept RPI out of them, and I believe he’ll continue to operate that way.  For appearances sake, however, it probably wouldn’t hurt to let Representative Sweeney know that she can hold an event there as well.
