DES MOINES, Iowa– The Republican Party of Iowa announced today that John Landon of Ankeny, was the winner of the Special Nominating Convention for Iowa House District 37, held on July 18th, 2012. Landon beat out other candidates Matt DeVries, Jeff Wright and Jim Robidoux by winning a majority of the votes cast on the second round of balloting.

“Congratulations to John on winning the nomination for House District 37. I look forward to working with him to secure the seat in November and I know he will be a great addition to the Iowa House,” said Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker.

Chairman A.J. Spiker issued a call for a Special Nominating Convention after no candidate received the required 35 percent in the June 5th primary. There is currently no Democratic challenger in House District 37.
