(AMES) – Congressman Steve King (R-Kiron) today released his second television advertisement of the 2012 election cycle to run in the new 4th Congressional District. The 30-second advertisement, titled “Marilyn,” features King’s wife, Mrs. Marilyn King. The advertisement highlights Rep. King’s consistency, trustworthiness, commitment to and love for Iowa, and his willingness to always listen to the concerns of his constituents.

“Steve’s commitment to public service and those he represents goes back 15 years, but his passion for his community goes back decades farther,” said Marilyn King. “Though Iowa gets most of his time, our family looks forward to our time together, especially Sundays when the whole family comes over after church for brunch and the grandkids spill out onto the deck and yard and take turns on our rope swing. Every day, I get to see first hand Steve’s dedication to America, Iowa and restoring our American Dream, and I’m so glad I have the chance to share that with Iowans across the Fourth District through this ad.”

The following is the script of “Marilyn”:

Marilyn King:

Steve King? He’s had one wife, one house and one church for forty years. And I’m that one wife.

Steve’s consistent, trustworthy, fascinated by people. Listens, loves Iowa.

I love it when he comes home from work each week.

Iowa gets most of his time, but we get him on Sundays.

Steve King:

I’m Steve King and I approve this message.

The advertisement will air across Iowa’s new 4th Congressional District.
