WHO Interview 1

I was on Mickelson in the Morning on WHO Radio 1040AM with Jan Mickelson discussing school choice, and how Iowa can improve providing real educational choice for parents.  I was joined by fellow CT contributor Eric Goranson who is the President of Iowa Advocates for Choice in Education and the lobbyist for Iowa Association of Christian Schools.  Also joining us was Bill Gustoff a local attorney who lobbies for the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators (NICHE) and Aaron Gunsaulus who pastors Newton Christian Reformed Church.

You can listen to the podcast above.  We were in the first hour.

  1. Just don’t think that vouchers or TTC will give you choice, because they will eliminate choice! Once implemented, vouchers will require ALL private schools to take vouchers or go out of business. Those who won’t take them will not be able to compete with those who do financially. A short while later government controls will be forced on all private schools taking vouchers (which will be the only ones left). Pretty soon the only difference between private and public will be the ownership of the property. Government guarantees of “quality” = no choice. Think it through! At least now you have choice if you will pay for it.
