Doctors_stethoscope_1A new Fox News report reveals another major kink in the implementation of Democrat Bruce Braley’s ObamaCare: An overwhelming shortage of doctors for Iowa women, families and workers: “Some 10,000 baby boomers will retire every day for the next 19 years, including many doctors. But at the same time, more people will be looking for health providers under ObamaCare — meaning there could be a potentially wide numbers gap between those seeking treatment and those available to provide it.”

The American Academy of Family Physicians notes “we have an increasing population, we have more Americans that are getting older that need more health care. And with the 30 million Americans that are newly insured with the affordable health care act, more people are looking for primary care.”

Fox News details how significant the shortage might be: “medical colleges predict a huge shortage — of more than 90,000 physicians by 2020 and a whopping 130,000 or more by 2025.”

Meanwhile, Bruce Braley thinks that ObamaCare is “good for Iowa.” While Braley is in fantasyland, individuals and families in Iowa face reality: increasing costs, longer wait times, overburdened doctors and an increasingly scarce pool of doctors to choose from.

“ObamaCare is a train wreck, but Bruce Braley continues to put the Obama agenda first before the needs of middle class Iowans ,” said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen.  “Braley claims that ObamaCare is ‘good for Iowa,’ but has ignored the rise of health care premiums and is silent as a shortage of doctors looms.  Bruce Braley  has failed to listen to folks in Iowa who want ObamaCare dismantled; In 2014 he will be replaced by someone who will fight on their behalf.”
