(Des Moines, IA) Today Republican Party of Iowa Chairman A.J. Spiker announced the convention date to select the Republican Party of Iowa’s nominee in Senate District 13. The nominating convention is set for Thursday, October 17th at 7:00pm and will take place at the American Legion hall in Indianola at 7:00pm. Earlier Governor Terry Branstad announced the special election will take place on Tuesday, November 19th.

The convention will be called to order by Republican Party of Iowa State Central Committee member Gopal Krishna who will serve as convention chairman. Republican Party of Iowa State Central Committee member Joel Kurtinitis will serve as secretary. Delegates to the nominating convention will receive the Chairman’s call via U.S. mail.
