Rod-campaigning-600x300-600x300

(Dubuque, IA) Today, the Blum for Congress campaign announced it will report contributions totaling over $60,000 for the quarter ending September 30, 2013. The campaign has now received contributions from over 400 individuals and has over $140,000 cash on hand. In an additional sign of grassroots momentum, 98% of the donors are voters in the 1st Congressional District of Iowa, covering all 20 counties in the district.

“I’m very encouraged by the widespread financial support for Rod’s campaign,” said Paul Smith, Director of Operations for the campaign. “These resources, combined with our growing grassroots team of over 230 committed precinct leaders, will provide the muscle necessary to run a winning Republican campaign for U.S. Congress. A cash on hand total of over $140,000 shows that we are not only serious about raising funds, but equally committed to fiscal discipline in how we spend our resources this early in the race.”

Candidate Rod Blum added, “I am humbled by the continued support from voters in the 1st District. Each contribution – no matter how small or large – helps us spread our message of personal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government, fiscal sanity, free markets, and the sanctity of life. While fundraising before the primary field solidifies is always difficult, I am happy to be able to say that already we have raised more than our entire last campaign.”
