Sam Clovis(Sioux City, IA)  Today, the Clovis for U.S. Senate campaign announced an additional 100 county co-captains who are supporting his campaign. The total number of county co-captains has now grown to over 300 in nearly 50 counties. Clovis is seeking the Republican nomination for the open Senate seat currently held by Tom Harkin.  Harkin will be retiring in 2014.

“Sam is a solid conservative who has a command of the issues facing Iowa and America,” said Charlie Gruschow of Polk County.  He continued by saying that the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of these issues comes from a wide range of experiences.  “Air Force fighter pilot, advisory roles at the Pentagon and at the Department of Homeland Security, business owner, business consultant, tenured full professor of economics and business at Morningside College and a very popular radio talk show host has given Sam the solid background so desperately needed to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.”

Clovis has been traveling the state since he announced his candidacy in June. His travels have logged him over 17,000 miles and taken him to over 50 counties in Iowa. “I have had the opportunity to shake hands with many of the wonderful people of Iowa as I travel across this great state,” stated the candidate. “These people are looking for someone who is going to listen to their concerns, represent them in the U.S. Senate and provide unwavering leadership on the important issues facing our nation. I am humbled that these supporters have chosen to support me in this effort.”

Sam Clovis hold a MBA in Management and a Doctorate in Public Administration.  He is currently a tenured full professor at a private liberal arts college in northwest Iowa.  He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and still provides leadership to defense and homeland security institutions.  He lives in Hinton, IA with his wife Charlotte and stepson Khan.  More information on the candidate and his campaign may be obtained at www.samclovis.com.
