(Urbandale, IA) The FAMiLY LEADER will host a U.S. Senate Candidate Forum on Friday evening, April 25th.  The location of the forum will be in the Des Moines metro area, venue will be announced at a later date.

The timing of this forum, less than six weeks before the Iowa primary, is critical both to Iowans who are vetting the candidates, and the candidates who are making their case to be Iowa’s next United States Senator.

The moderator for The FAMiLY LEADER’s U.S. Senate Candidate Forum is Erick Erickson, a Fox News contributor, conservative blogger, and editor-in-chief at Redstate.com.

The FAMiLY LEADER has invited U.S. Senate candidates Sam Clovis, Joni Ernst, Mark Jacobs, Matt Whitaker, and Congressman Bruce Braley.  Clovis, Ernst, Jacobs, and Whitaker are confirmed for the event.  Invitations were extended to those candidates who were polling at 5% or higher in the most recent independent head-to-head poll by the Public Policy Polling on March 4, 2014.

The purpose of the U.S. Senate Candidate Forum is to allow Iowans an opportunity to further vet the U.S. Senate candidates in a setting friendly to issues affecting the family.  The FAMiLY LEADER has an active network of influential, authentic, conservative Iowans who plan to vote in the June 3rd primary and general election.

“We are excited about the upcoming U.S. Senate Candidate Forum and the potential for Iowans to find out not only what the candidates believe, but why they believe the way they do,” says Bob Vander Plaats, President & CEO of The FAMiLY LEADER. “Iowans are politically savvy and they understand the importance of this selection process and the impact it will have on Iowa and our nation.”

Attendees will be able to purchase tickets at www.TheFamilyLeader.com when sales go live.  Individual ticket prices will be $14.00.
