(Sioux City, IA) “I am honored to gain the endorsement of the Tea Party Patriots,” said Sam Clovis.  “Being an economist, I understand how the fiscal side of our government operates, and it is now time to send someone to Washington who will be a champion of fiscal and tax policies that will remove uncertainty and put this economy back on a path to solvency.  I am that person.  I understand these policies and how they affect each and every Iowan.”

Yesterday, Tea Party Patriots endorsed Sam Clovis and his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.  In their release, they stated, “Sam Clovis is as authentic as it gets. His first political speech was in the back of a pickup truck at a Tax Day rally in 2009. When it comes to personal freedom, economic freedom and a debt-free future, Sam is the genuine article.”  They continued by saying that he’s had multiple, successful careers, but there’s one thing he’s not: a career politician. He’ll fight to repeal Obamacare and get the government off of Iowans’ backs.

Tea Party Patriots endorsed Sam for a number of reasons, “We envision a nation where personal freedom is cherished and where all Americans are treated equally, assuring our ability to pursue the American Dream.”  But in the end they said, “Just last week, the Iowa Democrat Party released a video, ‘Sam Clovis: Too conservative for Iowa.’ By our count, that’s a badge of honor. For this and many more reasons, we’re proud to endorse him, and urge all Iowans to give him their vote and support.”

Sam Clovis holds a Masters in Business Administration in Management and a Doctorate in Public Administration.  He is currently a tenured full professor at a private liberal arts college in northwest Iowa.  He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and still provides leadership to defense and homeland security institutions.  He lives in Hinton, IA with his wife Charlotte and stepson Khan.  More information on the candidate and his campaign may be obtained at www.samclovis.com.
