Newton, IA – The Jasper County Republican State Central Committee, chaired by Marshall Critchfield, passed a vote of no confidence in the State Central Committee members representing Iowa’s 2nd District (Bob Anderson, Trudy Caviness, Judy Davidson and Jeff Kaufmann) on tonight.  The vote was 7 to 5 in favor of the non-binding vote.  The vote took place after National Committeeman Steve Scheffler explained why the State Central Committee was moving to remove Danny Carroll who is the current chair of the Republican Party of Iowa.  All four members representing District 2 have indicated support for ousting Carroll.  Today Kaufmann declared his intent to run for Iowa GOP chair.

You can watch video of Scheffler’s remarks and the vote below.

Sources tell Caffeinated Thoughts that there will be other such votes at upcoming county central committee meetings.
