With the special nominating convention to pick a Republican nominee in Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District race happening on Saturday candidates are scrambling to woo as many delegates possible.

Former Arkansas Governor and 2008 Iowa Caucus winner Mike Huckabee recorded a video targeting the delegates asking them to vote for Robert Cramer.

Huckabee formally endorsed Robert Cramer’s candidacy for US Congress on May 20th, 2014. “We need Christian businessmen like Robert Cramer in Congress. His no-nonsense approach and traditional values will make him an effective leader for Iowa families. We need his help as soon as possible to take on the broken, insider culture of Washington,” Huckabee said in a statement issued by Cramer’s campaign. “Robert is the right man to take on the career politicians and their special interests because he serves a higher calling, and won’t compromise his values. I’m proud to support him.”

The convention will be held at Des Moines Christian School (13007 Douglas Pkwy. in Urbandale) and will convene at 10:00a.
