(Sioux City, IA) Congressman Steve King will host his annual Defenders of Freedom fundraiser on Thursday, August 28, 2014, in Sioux City. King’s special guest is frequent Fox News guest, conservative blogger, syndicated columnist, author, wife, and mother Michelle Malkin.

“I am proud to have Michelle join me for my annual Defenders of Freedom event,” King remarked. “I look forward to hearing from her as we address the issues dominating our culture including the Rule of Law, Constitutional Conservatism, and restoring the pillars of American Exceptionalism.”

Defenders of Freedom is King’s largest annual fundraiser and has previously featured speakers including Senator Ted Cruz, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Senator Rick Santorum, Ambassador John Bolton, Senator John Thune, and others. This year, the event will be held at the Stoney Creek Inn of Sioux City.

Malkin started her career at the Los Angeles Daily News, moved to the Seattle Times, and has written nationally syndicated newspaper columns for Creators Syndicate since 1999. She has also written four books, the most recent being Culture of Corruption: Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies (Regnery 2009). Born in Philadelphia, raised in New Jersey, and now a resident of Colorado Springs, Malkin and her husband are the parents of two children.

King is running for re-election to Congress in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District. More information on the Defenders of Freedom event can be gained by visiting www.steveking.com.
