On September 1st, 2008, Hurricane Gustav, a storm that was 1 MPH below the category 3 designation at the time it made landfall, thrashed the gulf coast. But the lead story on the network news shows the next day? Bristol Palinā€™s pregnancy. The news anchors were all expressing deep concern that Sarah Palin had not been properly vetted. It sure would have been good if these people would have been half as concerned with Barack Obamaā€™s relationship with Jeremiah Wright or William Ayers, but it wasnā€™t meant to be. They were interested in ā€œHurricane Bristolā€, a storm of their own making, and the damage that resulted simply came from a lot of wind from the media. And the media hasnā€™t changed.
