There can be no liberty without law. Ā John Locke once said, “The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings capable of law, where there is no law, there is no freedom.” Ā This belief is foundational to our form of government.

Unfortunately there are those who want to use the law and government to restrict our basic freedoms through the growth of government, Obamacare with the birth control mandate and individual mandate is a prime example. Government’s foundational role is to preserve the inalienable rights granted to us by God. Ā Law preserves and protects freedom, but it should never diminish it.
