John Calvin wrote in his Institutes for Christian Religion, āOur assurance, our glory, and the sole anchor of our salvation are that Christ the Son of God is ours, and we in turn are in him sons of God and heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven, called to the hope of eternal blessedness by Godās grace, not by our worth.ā
There is nothing in us that makes us worthy of salvation yet so many in our world believe if their good works are more than their bad deeds when their lifeās ledger is audited theyāll be ok. Ā That is far from the truth. Ā The Bible tells us that āall have sinned and fall short of the glory of Godā and that the āwages of sin is death.ā Ā The good news is that āthe gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.ā Ā Jesus is the remedy for our sin, not good works.
