Carly Fiorina, former CEO at Hewitt Packard and chair of the American Conservative Union Foundation, spoke at CPAC yesterday and gave a speech that was well received by those in attendance.  It was similar to the the speech she gave at the Iowa Freedom Summit as it was biographical in nature.  She addressed several topics, but the aspect of her speech that stood out to me were her comments on President Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s failed leadership in the world, that part of the speech also drew the strongest response from the audience.

We must restore American leadership in the world.

I know Bibi Netanyahu, and as I sat in his office five years ago he spoke then of the dangers posed then by the nation of Iran.  He travels here next week not to offend our President, but to warn the American people that our President’s insistence on a deal with Iran at any cost is a danger to the world.

I know, I know King Abdullah of Jordan, and I applauded King Abdullah’s leadership in response to the beheading of a Jordanian pilot was to execute was to execute two convicted terrorists and begin bombing.  He came to this country seeking our support and he has still not received it.  Neither had the Kurds, nor the Ukrainians.

And when the Egyptians bombed targets in Libya in response to the beheading of 21 Christians, this administration stood silently by and neither condemn nor condone Egypt’s forceful response.  This is not leadership.  This is not leadership, nor is it leadership when Secretary Clinton asked “what difference does it make?” when our embassy is deliberately attacked by terrorists and four Americans are murdered.  It makes all the difference in the world Mrs. Clinton because the response has never come.

Fiorina would certainly make for an interesting match-up against Hillary Clinton.  I will look forward to when she starts to put forth an agenda on how to move America forward both at home and in the world.
