(Des Moines, IA) U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) met with the press on Friday afternoon after arriving in Des Moines on Thursday to talk to Iowans about his prospective 2016 presidential campaign.  Graham told Caffeinated Thoughts that he would make a final decision about running in a couple of months.  Graham announced his “testing the waters” organization, Security Through Strength last month and this is his first visit to Iowa.

Graham staked out national security and foreign policy as his niche should he run though he did state he had a lot to offer to social conservatives and fiscal conservatives as well.  Graham took a contrary position to many prospective candidates by saying that in order to defeat ISIS it would require “boots on the ground.”  He also said that not leaving contingency forces in Iraq was a mistake as President Obama and Republicans who backed that decision now know.
