Yesterday several Iowa State University students signed a petition to end women’s suffrage on International Women’s Day no less. Ā Turning Point USA, a non-profit student organization started to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, andĀ limited government, releasedĀ an accompanying video:

Carrie Lane Chapman Catt, an instrumental leaders in the women’s suffrage movement which led to the 19th Amendment, attended Iowa State University. Ā She’s probably rolling in her grave.

Perhaps these students should ask for a tuition refund or at the very least look up the definition of a word before being gung-ho to sign a petition. Ā Had they done that they would have known they were signing a petition asking ISU and the State of Iowa to pursue policies that end a women’s right to vote.

Jake Dagel, Iowa Field Coordinator for Turning Point USA, was responsible for the petition and video said that he had two pages of signatures in just a few hours.

ā€œStudents who often demand equal rights for women donā€™t understand the history of the movement,ā€ Dagel said. ā€œThese students failed to recognize that they were signing a petition to end a womanā€™s right to vote.”

Oh vey… Pretty sure these women below would not have signed Jake’s petition. Ā I’m glad to see that there were a few students in the video who recognized the sham.
