Both neurosurgeon Ben Carson and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee have released that they will make an announcement about their decision regarding a future presidential bid.
Carson last week released that he would announce his decision about 2016 on Monday, May 4, 2015 in his hometown of Detroit, MI. Â The event will be held at the Detroit Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts. Â The time has not been announced yet.
Carson plans to travel to Iowa after his May 4th announcement.
Huckabee released details about his announcement today. Â Huckabee will announce his decision on Tuesday, May 5th at 10:00a at Hempstead Hall in his hometown of Hope, AR.
Also there is speculation that former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum may announce his intentions very soon as well. Â Sources tell Caffeinated Thoughts that he has hired Iowa staff. Â U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham said there was better than a 90% chance that he’ll run is said to be looking at a May announcement as well.
Carson and Huckabee’s likely entries would increase the size of the GOP field to five. Â So far only U.S. Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rand Paul (R-KY) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) are the only declared Republican candidates. Â Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy on April 12th, and is the only declared Democrat candidate to date.
Update: I neglected to mention that Breitbart sources say Carly Fiorina plans to announce on May 4th as well.
