Shane Vander Hart with show producer Ron Carlson discussed the NBC News/YouTube Democrat Debate held last Sunday. After listening to a few of the clips it is easy to understand why they hold these debates at times people don’t want to watch.

Also Iowa House Majority Leader Chris Hagenow (R-Windsor Heights) called in to discuss the new legislative session, his new leadership position, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad’s Condition of the State address, and the budget battle they face this year.

Plus Ron and Shane discuss who Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post said had the worst week in Washington which would be Hillary Clinton. Shane notes that we need to hold off on putting much stock in the latest CNN/ORC International poll. Also Kathie Obradovich of the Des Moines Register says Iowa Governor Terry Branstad is putting ethanol ahead of the future of the Iowa Caucuses.

We missed having Brian Myers on this week, we expect he’ll rejoin us next week.
