(Urbandale, IA) Former Arkansas Governor and 2008 Iowa Caucus winner Mike Huckabee stopped by the Machine Shed Restaurant in Urbandale for a campaign stop on Sunday afternoon. This stop was one of many being made in Iowa this week and through the month of January as the Huckabee campaign launched an aggressive 150 event schedule in the final weeks leading up to the Iowa Caucus.

Huckabee, citing an internal poll his campaign took of 5000 Iowans, stated that 75% have yet to make up their minds.

He spent 45 minutes in a town hall style meeting hosted by the Bull Moose Club giving brief remarks and taking questions from those in attendance.  The attendees included college students from Louisiana State University in Baton Rogue, LA and Principia College in Illinois.

Huckabee during a press gaggle held after the event said he is trying to win the Iowa Caucuses the old fashioned way.

“I don’t think there is any shortcut other than going out there and talking to voters one on one and organizing in every county. As of Thursday we will have done events, not just driven through and waved, we will have done events in all 99 counties since the middle of May,” Huckabee told reporters.

“We are doing 150 events in January alone. I don’t know of any other way to win the caucus other than the old fashioned way. If it doesn’t work, then maybe in the next caucus if there is one in four years, people will just buy radio and television time and come and wave and parachute into big events, but I think the country, not just Iowa, but the country loses something if we lose what has been historically the pathway to win Iowa which is you have got to go out there and talk to welders and farmers and single moms and people working in stores. And you can not buy it, and you can not just somehow by pass it and purchase the top 500 feet of every radio and TV tower in the state and still expect to win,” Huckabee added.
