(Indianola, IA) Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum held a town hall at the Pizza Ranch in Indianola, IA. He noted that many candidates don’t hold town hall meetings on the day of the debate, but he considered the questions he receives as debate prep.

He was adamant that the poll numbers do not indicate what will happen on Monday night when Iowans vote.  “Nothing matters until Iowa votes,” Santorum said. “Four years ago I was absolutely ignored by the national media. Yeah, they included me in the debates, they didn’t really want to, but they did it anyway.”

“We weren’t talked about much until Iowa voted,” he added.

He discussed his experience, and took time to take aim at U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). He stated that he was a candidate who not only fights, but can win. He discussed the Iran sanctions, budget fights, and other accomplishments he had while serving in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.

He said it’s easy to stop stuff in the U.S. Senate, but it’s much harder to accomplish getting work done.
