Now that South Carolina will be besieged by political ads and mailers now that the nation and presidential candidates turn their attention to the Palmetto State I wanted to point out a new ad released by Ted Cruz’s campaign. It features children playing with a Donald Trump action figure and as far as attack ads go it has to be one of the more creative (as well as funny) ones I’ve seen this cycle.

How effective it will be? Hard to say. I’d love to see some updated polling from South Carolina, the last one I saw was taken before the Iowa Caucuses. Ultimately it will boil down to ground game with GOTV efforts. Cruz takes his operation south, and Trump after the New Hampshire win will likely keep going with what he has been doing depending on big events and his celebrity. The problem is South Carolina isn’t New Hampshire and it is better suited for Cruz.
